What is Domain Parking?
October 28th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Expired DomainSome people pmed me asking some questions, some beginners were confused about what does it mean, so here is it explained.
If you have a domain with some traffic, but you do not do anything with it, you can park it. This means that you will give your domain to a parking company, which will create a website full of ads on that domain, and you will be paid on a cpc basis. When visitors come to your website and press ads, you will be getting paid.
Some people inquire why should they park their domains instead of setting mfa sites on them or other kind of ads and just collect revenue
Some advantages of parking
-no need to design a website, the parking company will do it for you
-no need to host your website , the parking company will do it for you
-no need to put content on your website, parked domains are solely composed of ads.(You can not put adsense on a page without any content, for instance)
-the ctr on a parked page is way higher than those from mfa, because a parked page consists only of ads, so visitors have nothing else to do than click ads.
-you will get more clicks on a parked domains than on a mfa page, because many people heard about adsense and they know that they are ads, while on parked pages, people can barely realize that the page is full of ads, because ads and pages are highly customized, with pictures near them, and no trace of the famous “ads by google” or labels like “sponsored results” etc..
Even i have been tricked many times to confound a parked page with a real website and press the ads.
-you do not risk to get banned forever such as with adsense. IF you are banned in adsense, there is quite hard to get back in. If you are banned by a parking company, it is very easy to get back in at that company, and there are a lot of parked companies to test.
-the payment is done through paypal, and is much convenient than in adsense, at some companies you are paid twice per month, or on a net 5, net 10, or net 15 days. With adsense you have to wait at least one month to get paid for the previous month.
-you can have some niche not allowed by adsense, adult, gambling, pharma, etc..
Parking companies are very selective on the traffic they receive. They allow only type in or search engine traffic.

Expired Domain Traffic
October 28th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Expired DomainThere are always advertisements for people selling expired domain traffic. I was wondering how they obtain the domains. Where can they get such information?
Actually, most domains that expire now are snatched up by the drop-catchers such as:
Pool.com
Namejet.com
Snapnames.com
Godaddy also has this service but I’ve never had any luck with them.
Nowadays, if a domain has any traffic at all or any history is snatched before it’s available for $7.99.
I would imagine the sites selling traffic have thousands, or tens of thousands of names generating traffic funning queries in multiple niches. I’m not sure how one would go about starting a service like this from scratch, unless you were reselling traffic.
This business’ too far gone those drop-catchers grab domains in an amazing way they wipe everything off the table and extremely fast!
I was so naive one day when I tried to watch a list of 4-letter domains in pending delete I was refreshing the whois info in every minute. Then all of the sudden every thing vanished …before my eyes.
Anyway old domain that have some PR or indexed in DMOZ are very valuable
you could get a huge instant traffic if you build a site on them.
As for selling traffic from an old domain that’s pretty ambiguous maybe they use some sort of redirection or …. I don’t know
You can get a great domain but the average now is $300 because it gets snatched up (usually by Pool these days) and then they have you in a bidding war where you have no idea what to bid so automatically you go as high as you can.
Thousands of great domain are included with the 30,000 or so that expire each day, but a one man show has no chance of grabbing them before one of the drop companies.
If you want to start an expired domain traffic biz, you’ll need to resell someones elses traffic or you’ll need to register about 10,000 domains.

Domain Name Whois Registration Privacy
October 24th, 2008 by admin | 12 Comments | Filed in Expired Domainhttp://live.pirillo.com - Clint asks “Is it a good investment to block personal info from a whois lookup to see that I own the site. We tell our kids how dangerous it is to put personal info out there; does it apply to adults? My name, phone number and home address is out there for the world to see. What is safe to put out there? I just dont know what content to include, and what to omit.”

Paying For ISP Internet Access
October 17th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in Internet RelatedChoosing ISP services can be quite troublesome and the rule of thumb is only pay for those services that you need. Don’t try plunking down change for all the bells and whistles. If your business is typical small web-site, consist of only four to nine pages, you could choose a budget virtual hosting service with limited email addresses, cgi-bin access and a ADSL connection from the Internet for $15 to $29 per month.
Most of the small businesses choose the managed server hosting packages which can cost them from $2.95 a month to $25 a month. As mentioned before, these hosting packages have well administrative support that you required and what you need to worry about is how to develop your web-site. You will provide with an FTP client to load your site to the internet.
Socket Security Certificates or SSL cost extra for online secure transactions of the money transact through your web site. You need to pay at least $35 to $75 per month. The setup fees can be expensive and cost you as high as $65, and most of the time you need to pay more if you order special features. For large companies and high volume web sites, they tend to pay more for certain types of services.
Before making any deal, you should shop around and get the best deal for your online business. You will able to get web hosting through the internet but you need to really study the ISP background and bargain for more on what they offer.
A major concern in finding an ISP should be what is their response times in case server down. How reliable the server respond during high traffic times? You would need to ask the ISP on what their percentage ranking is for server downtime.
You will able to find some of these rankings on the internet by access to cnet.com or use the Google search engine to search for the top ten ISP providers that have the best percentage of what the ISP industry calls, down time and response time according to their servers.

Application Service Providers and Hosting
October 13th, 2008 by admin | No Comments | Filed in HostingApplication service providers (commonly referred to as ASP’s) have quickly sprouted onto the web hosting scene in effort to provide businesses with new and innovative services. The term ASP should not be confused with Microsoft Corporations software application.
The number of applications provided through the ASP model is growing. Accordingly, there is a growing business of companies developing software for the ASP marketplace. What sorts of applications are being developed? As remotely-hosted applications can provide cost-effective access for businesses to unique software, many of the applications are designed to be of occasional use in terms of use. Others are geared towards using group connectivity provided by through the Internet to provide an application that is flexible.
ASP’s have created software programs to handle various business functions as materials management, human resources, financial management, and e-commerce transaction services.
The variety of solutions provided by ASP’s is vast. Many ASP’s are doing great business in meeting operational needs of companies across different industries and business functions. There are a number of technical and business issues currently addressed by ASP’s to develop and enhance system applications.
A major advantage for businesses in seeking ASP services is that they provide an opportunity to reduce costs and increase efficiencies. Companies can have access to a wider-range of software products with the possibility of paying less than an outright purchase through usage charges. This allows businesses to access applications that can service particular business needs so companies can focus on their core operations. Furthermore, ASP’s are developing new software that can provide business solutions to operating issues not previously addressed through PC-based software. ASP’s also remove many of the technical administrative and maintenance issues associated with software by providing real-time upgrades, remote hosting, remote dial in customer support and overall software management.
Web hosting companies are involved in the development of applications ?however, many of the hosting companies serve to provide network management and serve the application remotely to users. In providing ASP-related services, these companies are essentially AIP’s (application infrastructure providers.)
For mainframe web hosting applications, ASP service providers are pioneering a new way to host and maintain business applications.
